Situational Dialogue 1
A: I had a falling out with my boyfriend.
B:That's why he sends me to ask.
a falling out就是说两个人可能因为吵架或是其他原因，干脆不讲话了或是不理对方了。当你说你和你的男友had a falling时，有时候是暂时性的（可能以后还会和好），但是大多数的时候是说你和你男友真正分手。要注意这句话可不能说成I fall out with my boyfriend.
Situational Dialogue 2
A: Don't fall for it!
B:I'm not stupid.
fall for的意思是“受骗，上当”，是比be cheated较为轻松的表达法，含有“太糊涂了”的意思。如：Don't tell me you fell for that old trick.(我不相信你会中那么老套的骗局。) fall for还有“爱上（某人），对（某人）倾心”的意思。
多学一点：
fall by the wayside"半途而废，堕落，误入歧途"
Some 150 people used to go to the church service regularly, but many have fallen by the wayside.
